Royal Enfield’s Slide School has returned for 2025 with new dates and an exclusive opportunity to ride the FT450, a flat track special based on the Guerrilla 450.

Hosted by Dirt Craft and flat track champion Gary Birtwistle, the Slide School programme offers both new and experienced riders the chance to develop their dirt riding skills in a supportive environment.

This year’s sessions will be held at Leicester Speedway and Iwade Speedway in Kent, with participants learning the fundamentals of sliding on a dirt oval.

The highlight is the chance to ride the new FT450, which will not be available for general sale. It features the Sherpa 450 liquid-cooled engine, flat track-specific bodywork and controls, and race-ready custom wheels and tyres.

Gary Birtwistle, founder of Dirt Craft and multi-time UK and Europe Flat Track Champion, leads the tuition: “Slide School is about building confidence, learning the fundamentals of flat track, and having a good time while doing it. Whether you’re completely new or looking to sharpen your technique, it’s all about progression and fun.”

The Guerrilla 450, from which the FT450 is derived, features the same Sherpa 450 engine also used in the Himalayan 450.

With 40 bhp and 40 Nm of torque, it offers road riders a flat track-inspired experience, especially with the addition of the Flat Track GMA accessory pack, which includes bar-end mirrors, sump and radiator guards, and a bench seat. The Guerrilla 450 starts from £4,850, with the GMA pack priced at £697.

Slide School bookings are open for several 2025 dates, with a ‘Race Experience’ day also available to returning participants, offering a taste of rookie racing aboard the FT450.
