Honda marks 50 years of the Gold Wing with anniversary model
Honda celebrates 50 years of the Gold Wing with a special edition GL1800 featuring new tech, anniversary detailing, and exclusive styling.
Honda has unveiled the 25YM GL1800 Gold Wing to celebrate the model’s 50th anniversary, complete with commemorative badging, updated tech, and a striking new Mat Ballistic Black paint finish.
First launched in 1975, the Gold Wing has become an icon of long-distance motorcycle touring. The 50th Anniversary model retains the 1,833cc flat six-cylinder engine, seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission, and signature double wishbone front suspension, while introducing upgraded connectivity including wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, improved Bluetooth intercom functionality, and enhanced speaker output. The bike is also now EURO5+ compliant.
“This incredible motorcycle has covered millions of kilometres alongside a legion of devoted riders,” Honda said in its announcement. “The 50th Anniversary GL1800 Gold Wing is set to mark that journey with new detailing, upgraded electronics, and a limited-edition display model pairing the original and current Gold Wings.”
Riders will also find anniversary branding on the centre console and Smart Key, along with a start-up animation. In Europe, the first 1,833 units will be delivered with an exclusive scale model showing both the 1975 and 2025 versions side by side.
